Richard had the original idea for the Cafe whilst pedalling through Iran in 1999, it may have taken a while - but eventually the Cafe became reality... and now he spends his time leading groups, enthusing others towards the world of Adventure, and trying to design itineraries that help people access the great outdoors safely and help them to develop a passion for our fantastic planet! Richard has recently been accepted as a Fellow of the Royal Geographic Society, and is currently working on his lead climbing skills.

Val- Spends most of her spare time running, cycling, walking or at the gym. Participates frequently in running races (usual place towards the back of the field) - favouring off-road, hilly, muddy and wet courses – really enjoys running in the rain for some reason. Val is responsible for a lot of the admin work for Adventure Café – loves the outdoors but isn’t nearly as ’mad‘ as the rest of the crew! Would love to spend some more time in New Zealand – maybe run an ultra out there.
Jagat - is our local man on the ground in the Himalayas - extremely resourceful, very knowledgable and a positive asset to all of our operations in Nepal - but also in India and Tibet, Jagat has been working with us now for many years. He originates from high in the mountains in the Jiri district of Nepal - at the foot of the Everest Base Camp Trail. Jagat always gives one hundred and ten percent to any of our local adventures in the Himalayas. Jagat's specialities include trekking, discovery tours, and accompanying Cycling Adventures.
Iain is Adventure Cafe's knowledge in Snowdonia! Based in the mountains, out daily in the hills, and regularly to be found both exploring new routes, and climbing exciting mountain routes, he is a great source of knowledge about North Wales. He is active in leading Three Peaks, Welsh 3000s, and other itineraries in The Lakes and Yorkshire. Iain is a trained climbing leader, qualified Mountain Leader Summer, and trained Winter Mountain Leader - more importantly though - he is a great guy to spend time in the hills with!
Kate - started working with us in December 2006. After achieving her Mountain Leader qualification, Kate has become an invaluable part of the team developing our charity relationships and a firm favourite with our clients leading Adventures in the hills. Kate loves being outdoors, has a huge wealth of knowledge of the English National parks and a burning desire to share them with everyone!!! She has lead trips in Borneo, Snowdonia, Scotland, and all around the UK
Hassan- runs the majority of our itineraries in Morocco - born in the mountains, lives in the mountains .... and most at home in the mountains. we even met him first - you guessed it - In The Mountains! His father , and his fathers father were all from the atlas Mountains - and he is a truly safe and reliable pair of hands for both trekking, and discovery trips as well as desert and cycling itineraries. What you probably wouldn't guess - is that Hassan is also a ski instructor! He has climbed Mount Toubkal more times than you have probably walked to the shops... and he has his own troop of donkies! He is a well respected member of his village.... no-one knows the area of Toubkal like our man Hassan!
